For an unforgettable evening on Hilton Head Island, head to Alfred's Restaurant for German and European cuisine by chef Heath Prosser and his team. Care has been taken to bring a wide wine selection from around the world-France, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, California, and of course Germany to pair with the menu. Nothing is overlooked to ensure the globally-inspired dishes at Alfred's Restaurant go beyond expectations. Along with many entrées from the land & sea, we also offer German selections, including sauerbraten, jaegerschnitzel, roasted duckling and the popular German mix platter. With indoor dining as well as our new covered and heated outdoor courtyard, you are sure to find the right seat in the house. Reservations highly recommended. Due to increased no show and last minute cancellation activity, you may be asked to provide a credit card when making your reservation. Charges will only be processed for no shows and last minute cancellations that cannot be re booked.

Chef Heath will create a down under menu to complement the wines of Penfold's Winery. Since 1844, Penfolds has been grounded in experimentation, curiosity and uncompromising quality. Their success has been driven by a lineage of visionary winemakers. It began with Dr Christopher and Mary Penfold, the pioneers who dreamed big, inventing tonics, brandies, and fortified wines made from grapes and Australian sunshine. It continued with Alf Vesey, Ray Beckwith and Max Schubert, celebrated winemaking legends who pushed Penfolds to extraordinary, bold new heights. It is this pioneering spirit and curiosity that has helped Penfolds become one of the most celebrated winemakers in the world today.

Absolutely Delicious. This was to celebrate my birthday and dinner was great. I had Beef Wellington and my wife had Schweinhaxen (slow braised pork shank). We both kept commenting on how delicious our meals were. I pared my meal with an Argentine Malbec, Areyna which was nicely light and smooth. William, our server, was very good, right level of attentiveness, and professional. He has been our server on previous occasions and always “right on”.

Outstanding restaurant, easily one of the top restaurants in the Hilton Head area. Great wines to select from, all of us had different veal dishes, cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. Will definitely be back.

Normally, we love Alfred’s, but not this time. Maybe our server was overloaded, but we did not see her from when we ordered until we asked for the check. The veal cordon bleu was tough, and we were not given a sharp knife and had no one to ask. The vegetables were bland with no butter or seasoning, and again, our server did not ask how our meals were or if we needed anything. We were not offered more wine even though our glasses were empty before we finished eating. We went to celebrate a birthday and wished we had gone elsewhere. A total disappointment.

As the owner it was my duty to ensure that your expectations were not only met but exceeded and due to my own scheduling error, your server, as well as myself and my manager, were overloaded at times and the service to your table was not what we strive for. We are so sorry that your expectations were crushed on an important birthday celebration evening. Please rest assured that this is a rare occurrence at Alfred's and not a mistake that I'll be making again in the future. Starting with cocktails, that were amazing! Our dinner were so delicious! Oh and to top it all off … two award winning desserts… Baileys cheesecake and the apple strudel is always our favorite!! Jobs well done Linda and Heath!! Thank you AGAIN!

Another excellent dining experience, at Alfred’s! I ordered the escargot for my appetizer, delicious as always. My husband and son ordered the Seafood Mornay as their appetizers. For entrees, I had the Panko Crusted Pork Chop, (one of my favorites) it was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. My husband had the Chilean Sea Bass which he always enjoys. Our son had the shrimp and scallop entree and he left nothing on his plate! Our meal ended with the Chocolate Mousse Cake, we shared the extra calories!!! Alfred’s is our favorite restaurant on the island. We eat there several times throughout the year. The owners/chef and staff are consistently friendly and attentive. The food and beverages are incredible (Alfred’s is the only place that we will order a martini or Crown Manhattan). Trent was our server last night and as always, he was great!

As always the best meal on the island is except for the desert. The Black Forest cake was mostly cloying sweet icing - not enough cake.
