Albert's is a neighbourhood wine bar nestled behind the heritage listed Kings Arcade in the leafy backstreets of Armadale. Our bar is named for the Australian artist, Albert Tucker who once resided in the area and more importantly depicted our beautiful 19th century building in his 1937 landscape.
We offer an ever-changing list of exciting wines by authentic small batch producers from all over the world, along with many classic 'non-wine' drinking options. Don’t expect a traditional restaurant menu, our kitchen offers up a variety of smaller, seasonal plates that are designed to share. Order one or two as a snack or combine several to create a more substantial meal.

Was our anniversary. Had a 1900 booking. Stood waiting for 5 minutes at the door to be seated even though there were many empty tables set for service. Waited a further 10 minutes just for water. Waited so long with empty wine glasses I had to go to the station and fill up myself each time. Which I might add, was not on ice. So, given it was a hot night, our wine was totally warm by the last two glasses. Lovely way to enjoy a bottle of fiano. Food was pretty overpriced for what we got and the quality was poor. Not to mention the completely burned bread yet still stale tasting in the middle with the pate. Wait staff couldn’t have cared less about our table. The tables either side of us were even asking me to op up their wines too. We are very well practiced in fine dining and our expectations are high but also very realistic. This failed. To then be offered 2 glasses of champagne after serving ourselves half a bottle of warm white was frankly insulting. We will not be back and will also be passing our experience to other locals.

Staff were lovely, so attentive and friendly and suggested drinks that were cold and perfect for the balmy weather . The food was also delicious especially the tuna. Couldn’t have been nicer and we all want to return soon. Thanks!

On this occasion (pre-Christmas lunch), the Albert's team weren't en pointe. We ordered a number of entrees to be followed by main dishes. The main courses arrived first, the entrees some time later...and one of the mains much later after that (following repeated requests and repeated assurances the dish would be "coming right out"). The waitress poured from a neighbouring table's bottle of red and didn't realise it wasn't ours until we flagged that... Pretty uninspiring, particularly as we spent the better part of $500. Albert's can surely do better.

We love Alberts. The menu is interesting and the flavours are great - whoever is cooking there - keep them! The casual atmosphere is just what we're after when work is finished. Highly recommend.
