34 is Chef Emeril Lagasse’s first restaurant dedicated to the cuisine of his Portuguese heritage. He was inspired by his late mother, Hilda, who influenced his interest in cooking when he was a child growing up in Fall River, MA. The 245-seat restaurant is adorned in shades of green – Emeril’s signature color – wood accents and ornate Portuguese tiles. A painting of a rooster, a national Portuguese symbol of good luck, greets guests at the entrance. Once inside, a jamon bar with countertop service and tile-clad DJ booth are focal points of the space. The restaurant celebrates not only the food and design of Portugal but also the sounds, with music from local and touring DJs.

34 is excited to host an intimate dinner with winemaker Joana Maçanita. Joana will guide you through a multi-course experience paired with wines from portfolio of wines. Seating is extremely limited. In any given year, Joana Maçanita brings more than 60 Portuguese wines to life. Her home winery, Maçanita Vinhos, is in the famed Douro Valley, but she also works with special vineyards all over the country as a consulting winemaker. No matter how far-flung these projects may be, Joana’s core winemaking approach is marked by her unique combination of applied science plus an unwavering devotion to local culture and terroir. Her deep understanding of how and why wine behaves as it does based on its place of origin allows her to commit to working sustainably and with minimal intervention in the winery. Joana firmly believes in listening to what nature communicates in the vineyard, and her winemaking methods are tailored to respect the message received in every site she vinifies.

We dined at 8 pm on Sunday and felt like there should have been more people here. The food is top to bottom excellent, and we ate a lot of it. Lots of shareable things. Standouts were the patatas bravas, the morcilla, and the house made vinegar potato chips with ibérico ham. Great wine selection too. Don’t miss this gem!!

Absolutely sensational! Already made a second reservation. Food was sensational and the staff made the whole experience truly incredible. New favorite NOLA restaurant!

Excellent new (ish) restaurant from Emeril Lagasse. This one is Portuguese cuisine, and intended for sharing. The "duck rice" was particularly amazing, and don't miss the "flan" for dessert (much creamier and taller than typical flan - more like a tall, really yummy creme brulee). The flavorful Sangria was great to wash it all down with.

First time having a full Portuguese meal. Have followed Emeril for years. One of the 5 best meals I've had in my 40 some adult life! Server was new and was awesome, very attentive. Charcuterie cheese board, olives and duck rice were over the top. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we had Basque cheesecake and it was the best cheesecake i've ever had. I love to try new places when in NOLA but I want to return tho 34 no matter what!

Dining at the jamon bar I was I really beautiful setting and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the kitchen at work. The Somali, Nichole, was excellent, and the wine was incredible. The food has lessened since the opening - things seem to be more “ready made” for faster execution versus a la minute - likely due to large conference crowd needs.

Sat at the counter- Great cocktails and service, efficient but not rushed. My dish or pork and clams was almost inedible because it was so salty!!!!

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, everyone was attentive, friendly, and fantastic. Every dish we had was better than the next. Chef Lagasse was on hand to make the experience even more special. Can’t wait to go back and sample more of the outstanding food, service, and sangria.

We really enjoyed our experience. Service great. Everything we ordered was delicious and the final bill after plenty of food and drinks was very reasonable. The gin and tonic was was a big wow

Service was poor. Server was overwhelmed. Food was fine - much better places to go in the city in my opinion which is sad because we dined at a sister restaurant last week and it was great.
