We are an authentic Italian wine café, proud to offer quality Sicilian wines and spuntini appetisers across the UK. In the spring of 2013 something extraordinary happened. Two Italian guys in their twenties met in Manchester to find out that they shared a unique passion; they both loved and missed, the Italian Aperitivo, the ritual of drinking, nibbling and relaxing after work. By the end of that very same year, Veeno was born: a place where everyone could enjoy great wines and the most authentic Spuntini – platters of meats, cheeses and other appetisers imported from strictly selected Italian producers. Our wines come from Caruso & Minini, our family vineyard back in Sicily where great-grandfather Antonio planted the first vines in the XIX century. Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. Mimi’s Bakehouse has become one of Edinburgh’s best-loved bakeries and an award-winning brand which is a well-known “feel good” place to visit, while remaining small enough to go the extra mile and try new things.

Ist ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen. Das essen ist gut aber teuer. Der Service ist nett, freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal dort und waren wieder sehr angetan vom Essen, vom Ambiente und vor allem auch der netten Bedienung! Einen Mann der ursprünglich aus Rom kommt. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend!
