Rubio is the brainchild of Max Reich a self-confessed foodie and music lover. Spending over 20 years in the music business, Max had always dreamed of a place he could create that catered for his love of great food and also be a relaxed and enjoyable space with a great soundtrack. He’s enlisted the help of long-term musical partner Simon Marlin who he enjoyed many years of success with under The Shapeshifters guise and launched in September 2016. It was our 2nd visit to the Script as we enjoyed the first one on Fathers Day very much. Unfortunately we weren’t as happy this time. The lamb in the roast was like a doorstop and the cauliflower cheese was a bit watery and the roast potatoes were a bit underdone. The club sandwich was extremely bad. Not really sure how you can make a club sandwich bad?? A lot of bread and not much inside. The chicken and bacon were very overdone and inedible. All we were offered was a complimentary coffee!

Had a great time here. Would’ve been nice to hear a few more Christmas songs from the DJ (who was excellent!!) and Prosecco topped up more frequently. Otherwise, a great afternoon . Will be back!
