Our “finest hour” was most definitely during the Battle of Britain in World War II, when we were commandeered by the RAF to serve as an auxiliary mess for Fighter Command at RAF Kenley. Today we serve a refreshing range of lager, ale & wines and a menu that reflects the great British pub, using fresh ingredients all cooked to order. We welcome the local & wider community, walkers, cyclists & four legged friends.

    Great Sunday roast with freshly prepared food. New owners are making this pub into a new favourite for us. There was also a really good live singer at just the right volume as background music and gave the place a lovely atmosphere. Good to see The Wattenden thriving and busy.

    Great pizza. My husband was delighted to have a whole Burrata in his pizza! Kids meal for £8 is great value and the size of kids pizza is good. Friendly staff and tasty food - just great.

    My second visit to this restaurant. Everything, especially the food and service, was wonderful. My only criticism was that the food, the super Mega Roast, could have been hotter... ...of course, we could have complained at the time, but the bother of taking the plates of food away to re-heat would have spoilt the overall experience of a celebration lunch.
