A very good balanced menu, drinks parings great and good value

We came back here for our 3 year anniversary and the food was amazing. We ordered the filet steak and the pork belly both were cooked to perfection and the service was great. The restaurant had recently been refurbished so the ambiance was lovely and we went on a Tuesday so it was 50% off mains as well!

We have visited many times - but the consistently high standard of food and service is why we keep returning. The way we do it - 3 courses a la carte plus nice wines - means it isn’t cheap - but it IS excellent standard & actually if you had the set menu and cheaper wine it would be much cheaper - but still great food. We like to go for special Occasions (birthdays etc) and to push the boat out but whatever your reason for going, the food is always delicious & the service friendly and efficient. I can highly recommend it! Thanks Terry & team as always.

Tasty fresh food, generous portion sizes and attentive service.

Very cosy place - staff was very attentive and food was good. Loved the quirky Dickensian options in cocktails - drinks were great. Definitely lucky to have them on the high street.
