Das The Drapers Arms ist ein schöner Pub aus den 1830-er Jahren, der in einem Wohngebiet von Islington liegt. Es hat sehr viel von einem Pub. Die Mitarbeiter sind genauso gastfreundlich zu einer einzelnen Person, die mit einem Bier bei einer Zeitung sitzt, wie zu einer Gruppe, die eine besondere Mahlzeit bestellt. Sie speisen in einer ungezwungenen und entspannten Atmosphäre. Dennoch nimmt man die Sache ernst und serviert Ihnen gute Speisen und Getränke bei ebenso gutem Service. Gut ausgewählte und sorgfältig gezapfte Biere (Harveys Sussex und zwei weitere im Wechsel) sowie Weine (es sind 18 offene Weine erhältlich) ergänzen eine Reihe von authentischen Lagerbieren, Spirituosen und alkoholfreien Getränken. Das Essen wird frisch zubereitet und die Speisekarte wechselt täglich und je nach Saison. Der Fokus liegt hier darauf, angenehm, ehrlich und saisonal aber dennoch preisgünstig zu sein - das Team des Restaurants ist erfreut, bereits in seinem ersten Jahr vom Michelin die Auszeichnung Bib Gourmand für "Gutes Essen zu erschwinglichen Preisen" erhalten zu haben. Der Speiseraum im Obergeschoss kann für Hochzeiten, Taufen und Parties genutzt werden und gehört zu den besten privaten Räumlichkeiten, die man in London mieten kann.

Auf der Speisekarte stehen kreative moderne britische Gerichte, die mit frischen Zutaten von lokalen Lieferanten zubereitet werden. Das Menü wechselt jeden Monat. Zu den Spezialitäten des Hauses zählen für 6 Stunden geschmorte Rinderquerrippen für 2 Personen oder Ochsenbacken in Worcestershire-Sauce auf einem Brioche-Brötchen mit hausgemachten Pommes frites und Dips. Unser unternehmerischer Geist spiegelt sich auch in den Getränken wider. Wir servieren 14 Biere und Ciders vom Fass und präsentieren 5 wechselnde Gast-Ales von kleinen Brauereien. Die Highlights auf der Weinkarte umfassen den Thirst Gamay Noir mit einem fröhlichen, pinken Farbton und umwerfendem Erdbeer- und Preiselbeeraroma oder die Spätlese Bacchus von Gifford's Hall aus Suffolk in England, ein Verschnitt aus Riesling und Sylvaner. Diese Sorte hat ein charakteristisches Aroma mit einer leichten Mineralik und entfaltet seine Individualität zu jeder Jahreszeit.

We take great care in sourcing our produce direct from the best suppliers both locally and abroad. Our menu is a mix of classic crowd pleasers and regularly changing seasonal dishes, which means you'll always find something to tempt your taste buds (even if you're in every day!).We are a pub, not a cocktail bar and while we make a blinding Bloody Mary, and will happily mix you an Aperol Spritz or Negroni, we don't do Pina Coladas. That said, we are extremely proud of our wide range of spirits from around the globe, which (where possible) we offer at affordable prices. The wine list has been chosen to provide a simple but high quality selection that goes as well with our food as it does with some good company.

    Welcomed as we went in, shown to table ….which was besid3va very hot radiator. Asked server if we could move, which was fine. Served quickly and efficient. Meal served after 10/15 mins…hot plates, hot food and very tasty. A very nice Sunday roast in a nice friendly pub..

    Was recommended & obviously for a reason. Couldn’t speak more highly of the waiting staff who were incredible with our slightly chaotic large party. Felt very welcome, food was great & obviously very well organised as service was super speedy. Will be recommending & returning. Thanks to the wonderful staff for a fantastic experience!

    Had an outstanding experience last night for my son’s 18th; outstanding food and personal service, it’s a shame we aren’t often in Shoreditch because this place is a gem Scallops were a must, also the duck and the scotch eggs. Pork and steak were perfect too. We had a lot of the menu and nothing let us down.
