Chef Sebby Holmes launched Farang back in 2016 after trading at street food markets throughout London. A year later he took up temporary residency in Farang's current home in Highbury & Islington. After excellent reviews, he took on the space permanently after his step-father retired and since, has gone from strength to strength. Farang was recently inducted into the National Restaurant Awards top 100 and awarded a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, which we have kept four years running. In the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Nipa Thai restaurant has been named after the original Nipa Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok. Lots of teak panelling, traditional Thai furnishings and artefacts lend an authentic air. All the staff dressed in traditional Thai costume are from Thailand - even the lady chefs. This authentic Thai restaurant is one of the first 15 recipients of the 'Thai Select' award - this award has been described as being the first ever Michelin-style award for Thai restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine, and is awarded by the Thai Government. We think this award sums up Nipa Thai rather nicely. What's cooking? Second time visiting and enjoyed it even more, really like this place and will definitely find another excuse to visit again - the food is fresh and flavoursome, staff are lovely and the atmosphere is great. It's a lovely place to meet up with friends and catch up over tasty food.

We arrived 10 minutes before booking and was greeted by friendly staff , who gave us menus whilst our table was being prepared, however staff did not offer us any drinks whilst waiting and we actually had to ask to get a drink, however apart from that the food was excellent and came in a timely manner , great service and definitely recommended
