A laid back country style pub with a stunning private dining room and honest cooking showcasing the best farms in the UK. In the bar we serve craft beers, wine from family-owned vineyards only, aperitif cocktails and a selection of local hand pulled ales.

Die Mitarbeiter sind genauso gastfreundlich zu einer einzelnen Person, die mit einem Bier bei einer Zeitung sitzt, wie zu einer Gruppe, die eine besondere Mahlzeit bestellt. Sie speisen in einer ungezwungenen und entspannten Atmosphäre. Dennoch nimmt man die Sache ernst und serviert Ihnen gute Speisen und Getränke bei ebenso gutem Service. Gut ausgewählte und sorgfältig gezapfte Biere (Harveys Sussex und zwei weitere im Wechsel) sowie Weine (es sind 18 offene Weine erhältlich) ergänzen eine Reihe von authentischen Lagerbieren, Spirituosen und alkoholfreien Getränken. Das Essen wird frisch zubereitet und die Speisekarte wechselt täglich und je nach Saison. Der Fokus liegt hier darauf, angenehm, ehrlich und saisonal aber dennoch preisgünstig zu sein - das Team des Restaurants ist erfreut, bereits in seinem ersten Jahr vom Michelin die Auszeichnung Bib Gourmand für "Gutes Essen zu erschwinglichen Preisen" erhalten zu haben. Der Speiseraum im Obergeschoss kann für Hochzeiten, Taufen und Parties genutzt werden und gehört zu den besten privaten Räumlichkeiten, die man in London mieten kann.

We take great care in sourcing our produce direct from the best suppliers both locally and abroad. The food, vibe, and service were all great. We came for the Indian infused roast dinner - pork belly & cauliflower cheese were standouts. The smaller roast potatoes were a great balance of crispy and fluffy. There were a couple of minor grips: peas were cold, and the trimmings on the menu didn't match those served - parsnips and chard were seemingly replaced with carrots and peas. Both were tasty, but unfortunately the side of carrots was excessive as a result. It's pretty annoying to do, but if the parsnips aren't delivered in time it's worth either reprinting the menus or having staff mention the deviations to expect from the menu. Either way, I'll be coming back to eat the entirety of the regular menu!

Naughty food, served in a size that doesn’t make you feel guilty. WINNING. Do not miss the potato dumplings with beef shin, crispy mutton belly, and the leeks… oh Lordy… let me lick that plate! And defo have the cheese AND both sweet desserts. You will get FOMO otherwise. As it’s a ‘come as it’s ready’ type affair, you’ll want to share all the dishes or get 2, so you don’t feel like you’re missing out or waiting. Floor manager is an angel, as are the other waiting staff, and Chef was sooo lovely too. Defo going back!!!
