Die Mondscheinbar & Restaurant des Father Office gehen auf die amerikanische Prohibition in den 1920er Jahren zurück, als der Konsum von Alkohol verboten war. Stücke aus der alten Zeit säumen die Einrichtung, darunter ein originales Schild aus der Swanston Street. Die spektakuläre Aussicht auf die Staatsbibliothek dominiert die Szenerie, die zur Entspannung auf dem großen Balkon rundherum bei einem speziell kreierten Cocktail einlädt. Der opulent eingerichtete Speisesaal mit Blechdach empfängt Sie mit Wandleuchtern im Stil des Art déco und Hängelampen. Der maßgeschneiderte Kupfer-Bierhahn über der Bar im industriellen Stil, zeitgenössiche Mosaike und die Gangster-Wand verkörpern die Ära der Mondscheinbars des damaligen Untergrunds.

This is by far my favourite pizza spot in Melbourne. The pizza has the perfect chewy base and the toppings are always generous and full of flavor. We always choose to sit outside as Rathdowne Village is away from the busy roads and has a quiet, relaxed vibe. The staff are incredibly warm and accommodating and brought some water out for my dog. It’s a great spot for anyone looking for quality pizza in a cozy setting.

The service was outstanding, particularly our very attentive and kind french waitress. The food was delicious, especially the duck and the fried chicken skin (thanks to the honey-truffel dressing).
