Das Not Your Average Joe's ist nicht nur ein weiteres Restaurant. Es gab keinen Mangel an Restaurants, als es 1994 zum ersten Mal seine Türen öffnete. Es gab jedoch einen Mangel an guten Restaurants mit günstigen Preisen in den Vororten. Steve Silverstein war es leid, weit zu fahren und zu viel bezahlen, und entschied sich, das Restaurant zu eröffnen, das seinen Vorstellungen entsprach. Der Name Not Your Average Joe's entsprang Steves Entschlossenheit, ein 08/15-Restaurant zu vermeiden. Er wollte einen einzigartigen Nachbarschaftstreff schaffen, wo die Menschen einander kennen, das Essen und die Preise hervorragend sind und man sich auch besonders fühlt, ohne sich zu verkleiden. Un es scheint, als ob andere Leute das auch wollen. Mit 15 Standorten in der Gegend von Boston und einigen weiteren in der Nähe von Washington D.C. stillt Not Your Average Joe' heute den scheinbar grenzenlosen Hunger nach kreativer, zwangloser Küche. Die Welt braucht kein weiteres Restaurant. Aber sie könnte ein paar mehr Not Your Average Joe's gebrauchen. Wir arbeiten daran.
