The newest addition to the Restaurant Collection at SIMON Roosevelt Field mall, Nomiya — which translates to ‘saloon’ — stands as the area’s first izakaya. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of minimalism, the interior of Nomiya is split between a hickory-accented bar and windowed dining room framed by black granite walls. Guests can pair their meal with one of the eleven premium bottles of sake listed on the menu, such as the unfiltered, cream-colored Yuki Tora Snow Tiger nigori or bright, effervescent Uka Junmai Daiginjo; or opt for a refreshing cocktail made with soju – the national drink of Korea which is commonly distilled from potato. Great taste, great presentation, good portion, excellent service - dine here for all that. Acknowledged a birthday celebration with complimentary dessert, candle and sing along. Vast menu so certainly something for everyone’s taste. Beautiful dining area but their take out does not disappoint either. We love either options.

Food and service by Sophia was great. Drinks could have been better. I had a cosmo and it was okay, not bad but not great. For food we had shrimp dumplings which were tasty with the sauce. We had the scallops and crispy chicken both delicious.

Went there for lunch on Restaurant Week. All in my party picked sushi and enjoyed the rolls very much. Will definitely go back again and try the hot entrees.
