A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. Super amazing restaurant. The employees are super welcoming and even when they weren’t our waiters they would still ask if we needed anything. I’m a big Javier’s and mastros guy and 76 above guy and by far ocean 48 beats all of them. Food was super amazing. Will be returning soon, more often. Thank you guys.

The food seems to get better and better, and it was good to start with. The caramelized brussels sprouts are delicious! Fish dishes and filet mignon are outstanding. The chef went above and beyond to cook our filet to perfection and bring it himself to our table! Desserts are creative but not always memorable, except the affogato, perfect finish to a good meal.

We traveled from San Antonio and Corpus Christi Texas so Mom could have Mrs. Knott's chicken dinner. This is what Mom asked for her 90th birthday dinner...how could we refuse? It was as delicious as she remembered from her last visit over 25 years ago. We are so full...we have leftover chicken and had to take our pie to-go. Mom enjoyed her rhubarb and we all enjoyed the chicken, rolls with boysenbery preserves, and the cabbage. Great meal! Pleasant staff and great service!
