The Mayor’s House By Selda is NOW OPEN! A full service restaurant in the historic The Mayors House home in Bishop Arts District in Dallas’ Oak Cliff. In 1983, after the success of La Calle Doce, Oscar and Laura Sanchez wanted to open another restaurant but they didn’t want to duplicate their previous success nor did they want to open just another Tex-Mex restaurant. Oscar wanted something that wasn’t found in Dallas, something that reminded him of home. Since both Oscar and Laura are from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Northern Mexico, they decided to open a restaurant that specialized in Comida Norteño (northern food) and Tex-Mex featuring dishes such as cabrito, mollejas, and asado de puerco. Today El Ranchito is known for it’s authentic Mexican food, freshly made tortillas and festive atmosphere where mariachis play daily. These elements – the food, the music and the friendly staff – have helped El Ranchito achieve it’s ultimate goal of creating an atmosphere where the customer feels as if they are back home in Monterrey.

Blind Bishop is a modern wine bar and restaurant nestled in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas. Our wine list is curated by Sommelier/Owner Dilek Caner, who is currently the only Master of Wine in Texas. For the last twenty years, Dilek has trained many sommeliers and wine directors in New York City and Dallas. We are open from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Saturdays. During these hours, we offer a rotating selection of 16 by-the-glass options available in 1 oz, 3 oz, or 5 oz pours and serve a bar menu. We also offer a seasonal six-course dinner with optional wine pairings on Saturdays at 6:30 pm. Seating is limited, so these dinners are by reservation only.Expect to have a great time tasting wine and food, having conversations with like-minded wine people, and to always learn something new about wine when you visit us.

Dinner was nice and good was good. The price is moderate. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat. The light show outdoors was nice to look at before being seated. It's a good place for a family as well.

Great service and food. Beautiful old building. Had hummus eggplant and cheese appetizers. Branzino entre. All great. Didn't care much for the pastacio cheesecake but will return to try some of the other desserts.

Elvis Night was LiVE! Truly enjoyed it ALL and meals and drinks were served on time! Definately a highlighted theme for a Birthday Dinner!
