Voted “Best Japanese Restaurant” by Baltimore Magazine and the Baltimore City Paper year after year, as well as the recipient of the highest rankings from the Baltimore Sun and Zagat. Matsuri opened in Federal Hill in 1996 as the culmination of Bill Tien’s vision for Japanese cuisine in Baltimore. Matsuri is frequented by Baltimore’s many sports celebrities as well as visiting filmmakers and political figures. His chefs are routinely hired to prepare sushi dinners for customers and their friends in their homes.

For our large party of eight they gave us a quiet table in the upstairs dining room. It was like our own private parties so that's why the ambiance scores so well. But the food! We had a range of sushi's appetizers it was all delicious and beautifully presented. What a great evening.

Amazing food and restaurant. Only issue is that we’re were put into a corner and it took us awhile to receive service

We sat a table for over 30 minutes and no one ever came to take our order. While others around us received food and beverages, we were ignored.

This was my first time going here. I was going to meet up with some friends and we all wanted asian cuisine. It’s hard finding a good restaurant with good food and service. I’m not from Maryland so I was a little hesitant not knowing if I would like this restaurant. The servers were really nice. The food was AMAZING. Would 100% go back.

Great to see Matsuri open again after their reconstruction. They seem very happy to welcome guests again. We were warmly welcomed, and enjoyed an excellent selection of appetizers and sushi. I especially recommend their Dragon roll and volcano roll.

The restaurant was not even open. It was closed for renovations. How does open table allow and even confirm my reservation for a restaurant that has NOT been open for 1.5 months. TERRIBLE

We ate ramen and sushi, and both were very good! There were so many choices on the menu we wanted to try that we will definitely be back!

Food is always fresh here. Service was a little slow Despite only having two tables the whole time we were there.
