- GGailNew York City •2 Bewertungen4.0Vor 6 Tagen besuchtWe had a wonderful time. This was a meeting place 1/2 way for each couple ( 1 hour or so ride for each). We had a wonderful time. Our waitress was friendly and attentive . We had a spacious private table and the food was well prepared and delicious. We appreciated the interesting and delicious vegetables included in several of our meals and having our water replaced whenever needed. We also enjoyed the historical , cozy ambiance. Our only complaint was the limited menu. We would have appreciated more salad options, a larger wine and beer ( including drafts ) selection and a larger dessert selection. Even if not much can be stored due to the remote location in winter, ice creams with different toppings such as liquors , hot fudge and warm fruit could be stored easily or perhaps, warn fruit crisps or cobblers.Mehr erfahrenThe Stewart HousePreis: Moderat• Amerikanisch• Catskill•4,7
- CCatherineNew York City •1 Bewertung5.0Vor 7 Tagen besuchtHad 1 pm reservations for a Friday lunch and were seated promptly. Dining room was full which was a sign of its popularity. The dining room was nicely decorated and the table settings and tablecloths were a quality touch. Nathan, our server was exceedingly polite and welcoming: a professional in all respects. We ordered the Chicken pot pie. I noticed that no side salad was available on the menu and asked Nathan if one were available. He said it wasn’t a problem at all and the side salads provided were perfect. The pot pie was served in a a tall, cup-like dish, sitting in a lower, wider dish, topped with a puff-pastry biscuit on top. We actually weren’t sure how to eat it and Nathan explained we should remove the pastry, pour the pot pie into the larger dish, and put the pastry on top. The instructions were very helpful and given in such a way as to not embarrass us, much to Nathan’s credit. The pot pie was delicious with generously-sized portions of white meat. We ordered a side of breads, a small basket with a variety of rolls. All were freshly made and tasty. We finished with apple pie a la mode. The pie was also freshly-made and delicious, with a fluffy crust totally different than mass-produced pies. Red Lion is definitely worth the visit: both the food and staff are exceptional and the Inn is just full of character.
