Das The Reef, ursprünglich Comptons genannt, wurde von der Usina-Familie auf einem schönen Fleckchen Land am Meer im ruhigen North Beach gebaut - ca. 4,8 km nördlich der Usina Bridge - auf dem Land, das seit Generationen in Familienbesitz ist. Das Comptons wurde 1989 eröffnet und hatte großen Erfolg für die nächsten 10 Jahre. Es schloss im Jahr 1999 aufgrund des schlechten Gesundheitszustands von Herrn Compton und Hurrikanschäden. Es gibt nur noch wenige echte Restaurants am Meer in Nordost-Florida, und unter denen bietet das The Reef, das 2002 unter direkter Leitung der Usinas wiedereröffnete, die spektakulärste Aussicht. Setzen Sie sich an jedem Tisch im Inneren und die Aussicht wird dynamisch sein, gelinde gesagt.     This is an excellent restaurant connected to the beautiful Renaissance hotel. It was beautifully decorated for the holiday. We were seated in a quiet spot as requested. Kendall our waitress was very pleasant . Making nice suggestions and attentive. The wine by the glass was somewhat limited but with very nice choices. We had the Malbec and Cabernet and not disappointed. Fish and chips was above average and the steak and frites was terrific and cooked a perfect medium rare. Nice way to end our evening in St Augustine

    We had the Ahi Tuna, schnitzel and sausage and pasta. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service by Tim was outstanding and we look forward to returning on our next visit!

    We had dinner on a Sunday evening. Service was outstanding. The Polish menu attracted us and the pierogies were delicious. I had stuffed cabbage which was so flavorful. My husband had the fried pork chop that came with 2 huge scoops of mashed potatoes and a dill cucumber and onion salad. He loved it. The cocktails were good pours and presented well. This was our first time here and we will be back when we're in the area.
