It was raining. A manager meet us with umbrellas outside One friend was ushered in as she was using a walker and I used the other brought out to me to help the other 88 year old friend. We were ushered to the table chairs were pulled out for us to be seated!! Never have I felt so cared about. The hospitality was amazing! There is a tranquility and peace in the eloquent but casual environment overlooking the harbor and water On one wall separating the bar from the dining area is a huge aquarium where jellyfish float aimlessly The food served for lunch was excellent ! Loved the food, service and ambiance. All the extra up charges for certain items was excessive!! We don’t mind paying $125 for a prefix dinner but so many if the choices had add on up charge.

The food was excellent. We especially enjoyed the outstanding jazz trio of Mikel Bee (drummer), pianist, and bassist—excellent taste in the standards, solid rhythms, and savvy voicings. The filet minion souvlaki was delicious. Another nice touch was the tasty hot roll with olive oil while waiting for our order. We did not have a drink since we had to work tomorrow morning, but the bar appeared well-stocked, and the drinks looked attractive. We'll return, especially for the music offered on Monday nights (5-9 pm). It is about time that San Carlos had some hip live music happening again.

We had a pleasant evening at Mistral’s. It mostly seemed like a well oiled machine. The menu is creative with varied choices. We liked the onion soup and caesar salad. The crab cakes drew positive comments; less so the surf and turf which included a chewy sirloin turf. Service was friendly and attentive.
