Patri has several meanings, in Hindi it means Pavement, in Urdu it means Track and in ancient Sanskrit its means a vessel or small furnace. The name took us back to our origins and we decided to use Pavement, Tracks, and Furnace to come up with a street food menu contains all three elements. Our starters are street food classics on pavements in India and Pakistan. Our grills are freshly cooked in the tandoor at over 400 degrees to replicate cooking in a furnace. This long-established restaurant in Ealing is known affectionately by its customers as “Mrs Chow’s” in homage to the lady in charge of the cooking, who believes in using fresh, natural ingredients. Feeling adventurous? Swap sesame prawn toast for “shredded jellyfish with three delicacies” or “frog’s leg in black bean sauce”. If not, don’t worry – you’ll do just as well with traditional starters like satay chicken or sweet-and-sour won ton. Follow with aromatic duck, a classic of its kind with crisp golden skin and tender meat, or push the boat out with a whole lobster, halved and served with ginger and spring onion sauce. A lovely evening out. The food was very tasty (we both had the Bibimbap set menu) and service was friendly and attentive. Our meal arrived quickly and we had a great little table in the window. Highly recommended.

The pho and curry were both great, the pho particularly had such a huge portion. We've ordered from here a ton and liked the ambience at the restaurant itself. Recommend getting the chicken broth if you get a pho. Curry is super flavourful. Spring rolls are a favourite for us every time we go (get the peanut sauce)! Staff were all very kind. I lost my earring and they kept it safe for me in a little bag, so I was able to go back and get it. Thank you all!
