It opened in 2018 and is housed in a 1950's industrial building which used to be home to the largest commercial laundry in North London. Chef Sebby Holmes launched Farang back in 2016 after trading at street food markets throughout London. A year later he took up temporary residency in Farang's current home in Highbury & Islington. After excellent reviews, he took on the space permanently after his step-father retired and since, has gone from strength to strength. Farang was recently inducted into the National Restaurant Awards top 100 and awarded a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, which we have kept four years running. We also received the Thai select award from the UK Thai Embassy which certifies authenticity and the freshness of our ingredients.We’re a young team of enthusiastic individuals, who over the last few years have bought our passion and skills to the table. Throughout the day the lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink or for informal meetings with luxurious vintage leather chairs and low brass tables. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner, the DJ set will begin, and cocktails will flow. The restaurant is beautiful with cut glass pendant lights, banquettes upholstered in silk and velvet and exotic kilim rugs. The striking central bar, located in the heart of the room, is perfect to survey the scene and enjoy an aperitif cocktail.

Great service! The individual roasts were a good size, but the sharing suckling lamb advertised for two wasn't really filling, not much meat on the bone. Could've been easily eaten by only one person; it would have been more convenient to order two individual dishes. The sticky toffee pudding was a winner, but the pear dessert was a bit of a steal.. £8 for less than half a pear and a splash of cream.

Had an absolutely incredible meal - the burger is famous for a reason! The sneaky winner was the winter tomatoes, though. One person in our party deemed them “the best tomato they’ve ever had”. Thank you to our wonderful waitresses also for preparing the cake we brought as it was our friend’s birthday! Very kind and accommodating. 10/10 meal & service.
