The building has been managed by The National Trust for the last 10 years but with so many other huge projects they decided to find a local operator to take over the mantle and continue their great work.Lanty Slee would of regularly passed The Stickle Barn on his way to Wrynose Pass which he used to travel to Ravenglass for supplies, a 4 day round trip by pack horse, accompanied by his faithful lurcher to alert him of any excise men laying in wait!We took over at the end of May and spent 5 weeks renovating the building and getting ready for the summer, we hope you love what we have done and we have lots more planned for the coming months.We offer amazing cakes, coffee, local ales, Lanty spirit, hand crafted cocktails, nibbles, hearty meals and good times from 10am to 10pm every day. The InnThe Inn is full of old world charm with little hidden nucks for dining. This restaurant is full of character and is used at lunch times primarily, but in the evenings, it offers a cosy ambiance lit by candle light ideal for a more casual approach to dining.The Inn also offers an afternoon tea which is simply divine. Served between 2pm-5pm by prior bookings only.The Bar and Snug is a relaxed and super cosy space sticking with the old charm of the Inn which this part of the building offers. It has an impressive wood burning stove and is dog friendly.

A delightful rustic restaurant in Windermere with a relaxed atmosphere and the warmest welcome from the hosts who were engaging and attentive. Food was excellent, full of flavour and attractively presented. Nice menu and range of drinks from the bar. Highly recommended

Relatively limited menu for long stays but excellent service ( generally). Food is good although I had a steak which was rather chewy.

We had excellent food, sea bream and chicken, friendly and very service oriented staff. Unfortunately we got a Chinese couple next to us whose smacking, slurping and spitting of their starter was so loud and disgusting that we decided to leave earlier than planned … hope a better experience next time.
