Following the success of his first restaurant in Vauxhall, chef and founder Ajay Chaurasia has opened a second site in Wimbledon, bringing his own personal take on Indian cuisine to South-west London. On offer is a range of lesser-known regional dishes along with plenty of tried-and-tested favourites so there’s something for everyone at this bright and cheerful restaurant. Chaurasia’s aim is to bring together flavours from all over the Indian continent, Sharing appetizers includes the likes of king prawns (Tiltala Jhinga) and sticky tamarind wings with avocado chat - a contemporary spin on the classic street food snack. Tandoor highlights include Murgh Hariyali Tikka, which is grilled chicken breast marinated with fresh green spices and yoghurt, as well as vegan options, too.     We opted for the seasonal set menu….it was delicious. The Turkey Ballotine and the shepherds pie was delicious, my husband really enjoyed the shepherds pie saying it was rich & full of meat. I was going to order the snowman pudding which was served under a cloche and when lifted, wafted smoke/ dry ice …… love the theatre but it looked quite big so we went for the chocolate bomb …. delicious. Really lovely restaurant, the staff are all very friendly and the whole place was very festive. Lastly, it was our wedding anniversary… when we’d finished our meal our server came over with a chocolate profiterole with Happy Anniversary written on a chocolate square… lovely little touch. We would definitely come back here…. we really enjoyed our experience.
