I don't go out to lunch often, but this was on President's Day. Lunch menu had good variety and the food and service were top notch.

Food was very good but the grits in the shrimp in grits were different, not bad, just different. The cola drink was weird - prefer Coke products.

Our reservation got confused with another party with the name of Steele - we actually knew them. We arrived first and were told we only made a reservation for 2 when we had done so for 4. When I advised them of that, I was told "I see that". We were accommodated quickly, however. When the OTHER party of Steele's arrived, we greeted them, and they were telling us how they were told somehow they were down for a party of 4 - I think if the reservations desk had asked us our first name, the confusion could have been resolved.

We go there frequently as its just a few miles from our home. The food is great, the service is always a 5 out of 5 and Never been disappointed. If you want a great meal, great service in a upscale atmosphere, this is the place. Its a great place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or just enjoy one of the best meals with a scenic view and the best chef’s and waitstaff. We go there usually weekly and never been disappointed.

Mercantile is tucked away in downtown King. It delivers both flavor and ambiance. From the moment we stepped inside, the warm lighting, stylish decor and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The menu offers a great selection of dishes. I have tried almost every appetizer, and they are perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The steak is some of the best I have had - tender and flavorful. I HIGHLY recommend trying the mac & cheese for your side. The drink selection is also equally impressive. Service is Top Notch - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They make great recommendations and ensure that every detail is taken care of. Mercantile does not disappoint. We live in Yadkinville and have made the drive multiple times. A+++
