As you walk into the Peacock you get the feeling of history, built in 1652, the hotel was originally used as a dower house for Haddon Hall. The link between the two survives today as Lord Edward Manners brought the hotel back into his estate in 2004, the hotel has many pieces of unique furniture and art work from the Estate. The Bar is another step back into the past with a copper topped bar and untouched surroundings, the extensive cocktail and drinks list can be enjoyed in the bar or lounge before dinner. Our restaurant team have been the proud bearers of three AA rosettes–the top ten percent in the country. We offer both an indulgent, fine dining menu & a more relaxed bar menu to suit most tastes or moods. We serve truly local ingredients including organically-reared beef & lamb from the Haddon Estate. Absolutely recommend afternoon tea here. The food was excellent, absolutely delicious and so special, was a real treat. The service was outstanding as well, staff were so friendly, will definitely be back again in the future

Lovely food. Very nice surroundings and ambience. Would definitely go back. The only downside was the service, which was friendly enough but not very attentive. We also had to wait to pay and there was only one person at the desk who was welcoming and seating new arrivals rather than taking our money. There was someone else waiting to pay behind us - maybe there ought to be someone who could see the queue and help out.

Everything was perfect, food delicious and well presented. Good portion size. Limited options due to unexpected weather conditions but still catered for our different tastes and needs. Lovely pub atmosphere with open fire.

Great food and service was brilliant. We had to update our booking to reduce number and open table inadvertently changed the booking date!! The restaurant was unfortunately full but they accommodated our group in the library. This actually made it a lovely quirky private experience (low table dining) for a 50th birthday celebration and service was still very attentive, even though we were tucked away.
