Dining at The Old Deanery is an immersive experience, and you move through the building as you dine. Arrive into the cosy welcome lounge for pre-dinner drinks; chat, get comfortable, and relax – there will be no classical piano and hushed tones in here! Move through to the bar where you can watch some of the chefs work before they invite you to take your first course. The main event takes place in the restaurant, but forget white tablecloths and stilted service; the food may be formal but the atmosphere is not. Cannot fault our Sunday lunch experience. Excellent food, well trained and friendly staff. The Inn was fully occupied but service was speedy and efficient. Heartily recommend eating here.

Fabulous meal ,started with cocktails at the bar then at the table shared a calamari starter which was delicious. Next was a duck Rendang curry with Jasmine rice and fishcakes with a side of chips and we shared chocolate truffles to finish with something sweet. All served beautifully. Loved it all and would highly recommend.

Fabulous experience. Looked after and welcomed from the minute we stepped foot inside to the minute we left. Food was delicious and beautiful. We couldn’t believe how much work went into some of the dishes. Don’t expect massive portions- this is a refined experience but no one was left hungry. Lovely place, lovely team and great food. What more do you want?

The Silva Bells has become our favourite place to eat when we visit Ripon, the food is always amazing as is the service & best of all they are dog friendly so our pet Bert can come too. Try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed
