Table service to order took a while, but to be fair to staff, they were very busy. Staff were all polite and professional. Food was plentiful. I ordered pork belly, mash and veg and my husband ordered battered fish and chips. My pork belly was huge! But rather salty and I had so much on my plate, I could only eat half of the meal, same for my husband. Therefore, I had to take mine home in a box for later. Food was very fresh and very hot. I will definitely return, but maybe in daylight, as the car park and path to the carpark were not lit, so it was difficult to see where you're going.

Quite honestly we both had sirloin steak which we said was probably the best we’ve ever had.

Another wonderful afternoon tea experience at The Assembly House. Great service, wonderful food and a great start to our Christmas celebrations. Thank you so much to all the staff who continue to deliver a wonderful experience in the most amazing building.

Exceptional service and a lovely dining experience as usual. We tried the festive afternoon tea which was delicious, however for us there wasn’t enough savoury and too much sweet. For the cost I would have liked at least a savoury scone option or a sausage roll maybe. Still a lovely experience and we will return to eat from the main menu.

Beautifully cooked very tasty food, welcoming staff , excellent service , crisp cold house white, roaring fire, fish so fresh it was almost swimming, tangy home made tartare sauce , juicy dressed crab, zingy roll mop herring . Completely yummy and all very reasonably priced . Perfect pre Christmas lunch !
