The Royal is operated by James Hickson, who has a solid hospitality background having learned his trade at well-loved restaurants and gastropubs including St John, Great Queen Street, The Canton Arms and Moro. Every dish was delicious! We were a group of seven on a Saturday lunchtime. We ordered all the small starters to share, and enjoyed this and every course. We loved it!

We went to the Crown for a lovely valentines lunch. The food was superb and excellent value, staff were pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. All in all a wonderful experience.

We had a booth which made the experience private and very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the food was delicious and plentiful. You won’t go home hungry!
