We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Darling’s is a fresh pasta eatery in East London. Overlooking Olympic Park, the eatery is a hidden gem in Fish Island where the industrial and creative spaces converge. Roman Road, Bow, Hackney Wick and Victoria Park are just a stroll away from your weekly treat of freshly made pasta and wine from independent producers. Egle Loit, a trained pasta chef, has previously popped up mostly around East and North London, creating a buzz with her pre-restaurant residency at Vestry House Museum in 2023.Founder of Darling’s cares dearly about the craft that fresh pasta making requires. “One can turn humble ingredients into abundance with skill,” shares the restaurateur. Darling’s is designed to be an open space to be shared between the guests and the team, therefore there are no barriers between the service area and the dining area. You’ll find yourself connecting by enjoying your meal at the shared table. Those, who like to hide away, can still do it at separate tables.

Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

    Probably one of the best dinning experiences in London. Changes in menu have never disappointed, absolutely wonderful food. We have eaten here 6 times now. Staff is so lovely. Couldn’t recommend it more!

    Went here for an anniversary with my partner and food, drinks, the vibes and everything was amazing 💕. The only thing was that the staff seemed super busy so the service was a bit inattentive and slower. Personally, I didn’t really mind it as I prefer to have a slow-paced, uninterrupted meal :)

    Our waiter Marcel was fantastic. He heard that we didn't like one of the dishes, and offered to take it off the bill! We didn't ask as we wanted to experiment with no strings attached; what a lovely gesture from him. The rest of the food was impeccable as always, and the atmosphere is romantic and cheerful. For reference, our favourite steak on the menu happens to be the cheapest one! - Denver steak - Beef dripping chips - Chop sauce - Chilli hollandaise (for dipping the chips) - White chocolate and wild berry cheesecake - Sweet potato (not so good) Would absolutely recommend coming here, as the price is fair and the service is awesome! 😎
