Gloria Gati is the new restaurant of chef George Papakostas who jokingly refers to Gloria as the older sister of Vittoria Gati, another famous restaurant of his in Glyfada. Gloria is located in a historic building in the Athens center just 50 meters from Syntagma square. It is defined by an eclectic vintage design in a very cosy space where the pizza oven takes center stage. The bar serves award winning cocktails and over 100 wines from Greece and around the globe. The menu is Italian with a focus on homemade pasta and quality meats. The pizza is made from a 1937 sourdough and baked in a traditional oven imported from Naples. Some of the signature dishes include the steak tartare, arancini bolognese, the raviolo cacio pepe, the reginette al tartufo for truffle lovers as well as pollo francese and the ossobuco which is cooked for 12 hours. A tiramisu is a must here accompanied by a single estate espresso. Outside seating is available all year round in the courtyard of St George church

    Am Neujahrstag suchte ich ein Restaurant für vier Personen. Die Bewertungen waren sehr gut, also habe ich reserviert. Das Restaurant liegt etwas abseits des Touristentrubels. Der erste Eindruck war schon sehr gut, wir hatten einen großen Tisch mit einem großen Blumenstrauß auf dem Tisch. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön. Es kam ein kleiner Gruß aus der Küche, dieser machte Appetit auf mehr. der Hauptgang Brasse mit Risotto, war einfach großartig, was für ein Geschmackserlebnis. Alle bestellten Gerichte waren gleichwertig großartig. Es war ein wunderschöner Abend. Das Restaurant ist absolut zu empfehlen.

    Der Service war absolut Klasse! So überragend bin ich lang nicht bedient worden. Das lässt dazu ein, wieder zu kommen. Das Essen nicht ganz so mein Geschmack, zumindest das Ribey Steak. Ich höre mir mehr Krautsalat gewünscht anstatt Brokkoli. Im Shop hätte ich noch viel mehr kaufen können, nur leider fehlen bei den Herren die entsprechenden Größen. Es gab wirklich schöne Shirts, aber diese nur in S. Mein Mann ist etwas größer und das passt dann nicht so wirklich. Schade. Dem Geburtstagsrabatt fand ich auch spitzenmäßig.

    Waren zum Silvester Menü da - sehr gutes Essen. Das Ambiente sehr schön nur ein kleiner Nachteil die Toiletten im ersten Stock und nur 3 WC für das gesamte Restaurant.
