We are thrilled to have been selected to take over The iconic Stickle Barn in Great Langdale. The building has been managed by The National Trust for the last 10 years but with so many other huge projects they decided to find a local operator to take over the mantle and continue their great work.Lanty Slee would of regularly passed The Stickle Barn on his way to Wrynose Pass which he used to travel to Ravenglass for supplies, a 4 day round trip by pack horse, accompanied by his faithful lurcher to alert him of any excise men laying in wait!We took over at the end of May and spent 5 weeks renovating the building and getting ready for the summer, we hope you love what we have done and we have lots more planned for the coming months.We offer amazing cakes, coffee, local ales, Lanty spirit, hand crafted cocktails, nibbles, hearty meals and good times from 10am to 10pm every day. The restaurant boast some wonderful bespoke ironwork along with a vintage industrial feel . The InnThe Inn is full of old world charm with little hidden nucks for dining. This restaurant is full of character and is used at lunch times primarily, but in the evenings, it offers a cosy ambiance lit by candle light ideal for a more casual approach to dining.The Inn also offers an afternoon tea which is simply divine. A delightful rustic restaurant in Windermere with a relaxed atmosphere and the warmest welcome from the hosts who were engaging and attentive. Food was excellent, full of flavour and attractively presented. Nice menu and range of drinks from the bar. Highly recommended

Can’t get a better location than this in Windermere, especially when the sun is shining. Food was perfect, staff very attentive. We will be back!

It's a while since we have been here and it has changed so much for the better. Immaculately clean & has been refurbished. Lovely lady welcomed us at thd door and showed us to our table taking our drinks order. She then came back for our food order. We both chose pizzas and share sides of salad, which was fresh & crisp, coleslaw and fries. All cooked to perfection & delicious.
