I recently visited Joe Theismann, an upscale sports bar, during Restaurant Week, and while the food was absolutely fantastic, the service left a lot to be desired. Let’s start with the positives—the Restaurant Week menu was an incredible deal, offering a well-curated selection of dishes that showcased both quality and creativity. Every course was delicious, from the perfectly cooked appetizers to the flavorful entrées. The portions were generous, and it was clear that the kitchen put real effort into execution. The desserts were another highlight—decadent, well-balanced, and the perfect way to end the meal. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by poor service. Our server was inattentive, borderline rude, and seemed completely uninterested in making our visit enjoyable. The mussels were brought out and we had no silverware. When I told her I needed it she seemed annoyed. It was disappointing, especially considering the upscale vibe and the level of food quality. Would I return? Maybe—but I’d hope for a different server because the food is absolutely worth it. If management could step up the service to match the kitchen’s excellence, this place would be an easy five-star experience.

We were greeted with a warm welcome at the hosted station. Our waiter was attentive, quick and informative. The atmosphere was lively without being annoying. TV's were easy to se if you wanted to see them. Our party of 3 enjoyed 3 different entree's. Our appitizer was a garlic cheese toasted bread with marinara dipping sauce. Our entree's were a 7oz filet mignon, a ribeye and a chicken/spinach noodle dish. There was nothing to complain about. The meals were done perfectly. Here in Old Town there are dozens of restaurants. Most are good or very good. But, many of the times I would visit one and say it was good but I just wouldn't need to go back to or make an effort to go back to. Theismann's restaurant is a place I would make an effort to go back to.

I’ve visited Joe Theismann’s a few times over the years and never been disappointed. The food came out hot and fresh. I had the chicken biscuit with the mimosa flight.
