took 2 friends to Five Crowns and had wonderful seats in the "Nixon Nook" Service was superb as was the food!

Always a great dining experience. It is our "go to" place for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. You can never go wrong with the Prime Rib! And they wen't back to their old recipe for bread - oh lord, it was delicious.

A special occasion (anniversary), reservation a month in advance. The smoked Old Fashioned, prime rib, creamed spinach and service were ALL five stars. Comfortable seat, eye line to a real fire (on a cold night), it was a perfect way to celebrate together.

We had a 3 hour meal for 3 courses much longer then anticipated I think the waiter enjoyed our table. It took a bit for our ebtreees to arrive. We enjoyed the food and ambience just a little long for our food to arrive.

The food was fine, but not as noteworthy as the elevated prices. The atmosphere is quaint, as long as you are assertive about where you are seated. We were celebrating a birthday and, when we made our reservations, we had requested a table near a fireplace, if possible. We arrived 15 minutes before our reservation time. We waited for half an hour while several parties that had reservation times later than ours were seated. We assumed this was because they were waiting for a table near a fireplace to become available. When "our table" was ready, we were led to a table near the path of the noisy and busy kitchen, with no fireplace in sight. We said we would prefer to wait for a table more to our liking. The hostess tried to convince us that the table near the kitchen was fine. But we spotted a table near the fireplace, just as we had hoped for, and asked if we could be seated there. After checking with the maitre d', we were seated at the table we had requested. All in all, we probably will not be returning to Five Crowns for a special occasion again. It really wasn't very special. It could be good for a casual meal in their pub, though.
