Das Programm des Café Momentum lehrt wichtige Fähigkeiten, die den Jugendlichen eine Wiedereingliederung in die Gesellschaft ermöglichen, dank eines sicheren, realen und verantwortungsbewussten Umfelds. Durch die Teilnahme an unserem Programm können junge Menschen in Risikosituationen alle Bereiche eines Restaurantbetriebs kennen lernen, vom Service bis zum Tellerwäscher, während ihrer Arbeit mit etablierten Köchen. Das bezahlte Praktikum gibt ihnen die Möglichkeit, ihre neuen Fähigkeiten zu verfeinern und gleichzeitig Führungs-, soziale und berufliche Fähigkeiten zu erlangen, so lange sie sich am Projekt des Café Momentum beteiligen möchten. Darüber hinaus arbeitet das Café Momentum mit dem Dallas County Juvenile Justice Department zusammen, um Jugendlichen mit dem höchsten Haftrisiko zu helfen.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Knowing that young people were being helped made it better. The only criticism I would offer was that the waiters were very shy teenagers (which is quite normal and understandable). The mentors might consider teaching the teenage waiters to let their positive personalities shine through — to come out of their shells and be a bit more lively and smiley. I know becoming sure of your own voice comes with time and experience, so it’s all good!
