In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. Can't say enough good things about Beginnings. Food was great and portions very large. Many dishes can be shared easily. The restaurant felt so warm and inviting. Really decorated nice. Service Excellent. If you like Fried Chicken, the 'Yardbird" is great. Go Enjoy!!

Fantastic friendly vibe, the quality of purveying every item on the menu is consistently a 10. . The recipes are genuinely original and the selection of different meats, fish,pastas, salads and brick oven pizza are endless. I’ve been eating at DaNicola from day one and it NEVER disappoints my family and friends for any occasion. It’s a NYC experience at half the price of any 5 star restaurant!! Nicky the owner/chef of the restaurant loves satisfying his loyal customers with his home cooking!! Kudos to Marci, Donna and Stavros for their service.

Everything from the baked clams, fried calamari and stuffed mushrooms to the halibut, chicken sorrentino and rigatoni with mushrooms was delicious. Desserts were overrated and quite expensive for what they were. $15 for a slice of Italian cheesecake, really? Server was excellent!
