We are located in the centre of the Main Street in Maynooth Co. Kildare above McMahon's Bar.We specialise in serving modern Thai and South East Asian cuisine, along with delicious cocktails, craft beers and wines from around the world. Our style of service is friendly and relaxed as we believe dining out should be a fun and friendly experience. We have an enclosed heated rooftop terrace that comfortably seats up to 30 people all year round and is perfect for birthday bashes and corporate events. We also offer various group menus. We don't charge for room hire once there are a certain amount of people in the private group.We cater for ceoliacs as we have many gluten-free dishes and desserts as well as a gluten-free beer! The Winding Stair Bookshop & Café became a famous Dublin landmark in the 1970s and 1980s. Named after the Yeats poem and in honour of its winding staircase, it is overlooking the river Liffey, with an iconic view of the Ha'penny bridge. As a popular meeting place for writers, musicians and artists, it was a well known hub for debate and creativity with many poems written, novels penned and movies shot within its walls. In 2006, Elaine Murphy brought this much-loved spot back to life as a restaurant, championing seasonal, Irish produce. The bookshop, located on the ground floor, was retained, as were many of the old bookshelves, photos and memories. A true masterpiece, it was perfectly cooked to my exact preference and oozed flavor with every bite. The tender, juicy cut was seasoned impeccably and seared to perfection, leaving a subtle smokiness that elevated the dish. Accompanied by chips, a rich red wine jus, and crisp seasonal greens, the meal was as well-balanced as it was indulgent. Beyond the steak, ELY's menu is diverse and thoughtfully curated. The starter of caramelized scallops was a delightful surprise, with a touch of citrus that enhanced their sweetness. For dessert, the chocolate mousse with a velvety texture and rich cocoa flavor offered a refreshing finish.
