Itihaas restaurant in Birmingham is one stunning eaterie. This beautiful restaurant —the name means ‘history’ -- is the £2 million brainchild of businessman Raj Rana and it’s been raking in awards since it opened its doors. The décor is contemporary meets traditional with two dining rooms honouring colonial and maharaja eras – there are slate finished walls, original paintings, carved stone elephants, Jali marble window frames like those found in Mogul palaces and elegant black sari-clad hostesses. We had an amazing experience at Itihaas. The bottomless thali’s were incredible and so tasty, with such an exceptional variety of food. With it being bottomless, the food was more than plentiful, with staff being extremely attentive and friendly to ensure we were constantly topped up. They even brought us a free cheesecake as it was our anniversary, which was so cute and really appreciated! Lovely atmosphere and beautiful decor to match, we definitely will be back at Itihaas, thank you so much!

Very high class from start to finish. Service amazing and staff highly professional and friendly. A special shout out to Will Taylor-Lucas who demonstrated everything that is good about the younger generation. The food was unique and "to die for"!! Thank you - we will be back - as soon as we can afford it. Only suggestion - don't add 12.5% service charge to bill - it is about the right price without that - let people add tips if they want to - I would have!!!! Thanks for a great night out.

Totally exceeded my expectations. Fabulous service, setting and food. Beautiful calm, graceful ambience with warm helpful staff and every item on the menu was first rate. A pleasant surprise that unlimited teas, any type of coffee and hot chocolate were included in afternoon tea and the rose fizz to accompany goes perfectly as an add on. A special start to Christmas and a refined yet relaxed oasis in which to enjoy it at leisure. Highly recommended thank you - we will be back.
