Es diente als Refektorium für die Mönche und ist heute eines der ältesten, speziell für diesen Zweck errichteten, geschichtsträchtigen Restaurants in Großbritannien. We were given a lunch voucher for a present and we really enjoyed our visit. All three courses that we chose were delicious and the meal came with 2 glasses of fizzy. The restaurant has an interesting history and had a pleasant atmosphere.

This is some of the best food in Newcastle. My Dover sole was slightly over but the other dishes were on point. Great service and the ambience is always lively which I love, can’t wait to go back.

Lovely roast dinner only spoiled by being swamped with so much gravy it was spilling over the plate! But the meat was lovely. We did not realise that the football would be on screens everywhere in the pub - we probably would not have chosen to eat there if we had known but that is not reallly a criticism - we just didn’t know and are not fans
