Following the success of his first restaurant in Vauxhall, chef and founder Ajay Chaurasia has opened a second site in Wimbledon, bringing his own personal take on Indian cuisine to South-west London. On offer is a range of lesser-known regional dishes along with plenty of tried-and-tested favourites so there’s something for everyone at this bright and cheerful restaurant. Chaurasia’s aim is to bring together flavours from all over the Indian continent, Sharing appetizers includes the likes of king prawns (Tiltala Jhinga) and sticky tamarind wings with avocado chat - a contemporary spin on the classic street food snack. Tandoor highlights include Murgh Hariyali Tikka, which is grilled chicken breast marinated with fresh green spices and yoghurt, as well as vegan options, too. What an amazing little gem. We loved the bun club. But it was a bit of niche. But if you love food then this place is for you. Great varied menu and lots of choices. We had a bean chilli. Pork bites and calamari for starters. Mains were bangers and mash, pork belly and a smash burger (yes they still have them on the menu). We finished it with a sticky toffee pudding and ice Cream. The portions were huge. So you wouldn’t be hungry after. We loved it but it wasn’t that busy for a Saturday night. I hope they don’t get closed down again because I would be a regular.

We really enjoyed our visit to EFES. As always we received a warm welcome, without exception the team here are very friendly and attentive. The food was great, and our daughter the Birthday girl received a piece of chocolate cake, accompanied by the whole team singing and clapping to make the occasion extra special. Looking forward to visiting again with our friends in December.
