The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes. We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Always good value at The Anchor. The food is excellent and the staff are always so friendly and their service is outstanding. Will be booking for next year.

Had a lovely meal . Staff were very attentive . Food was lovely looked as good as it tasted all my guest were impressed . Defiantly go back for more . Didn’t know they were so close a hide. Gem

It is a nice restaurant with a view of Southend airport which currently is very quite (the airport) The staff were very helpful and friendly which was great, the food was good and even with the starter of my partner being slightly over cooked, they removed it from the bill and thanked us for our genuine feedback. Overall i would return to the restaurant and could recommend it.
