We attended afternoon tea for my sister’s birthday. She has mobility issues but nothing was too much trouble for the staff here. On arrival the receptionist opened the door and welcomed us on. They seated us in the dinning room due to my sisters mobility issues. A beautiful spot overlooking their garden, The afternoon tea was delicious. Service was excellent, Many thanks to the kind staff,

The Embankment is situated in a lovely position. When we entered the ambience was very welcoming and warm. Our table was lovely and spacious. The 12oz steak was lovely and cooked just as requested (medium). The other three diners ordered the burger. The bun was very cold and crumbly; the burger itself was good. The other two diners ordered the sweet potato and chickpea curry. (Extremely disappointing!) The chickpeas were tiny and hard as rock, the rest of the dish was “passable” - both diners were not feeling great after they ate this dish. We did mention the issue we had with the curry and the waitress offered teas and coffees on the house and something else to eat. (We asked for hand cut chips) I am not sure we will be returning back to eat in a rush! There is a lot to be improved.

Great Sunday roast! Will definitely be returning !
