Went last night Place has a superb feel,about it as a village pub with lots of locals of all ages. Had the steak and I don’t know where they get it from but it was superb. No fat or gristle. It had everything you’d expect with it and a good portion of chips too. Desert was great, cookie dough baked in the over with ice cream. My wife had pie and mash which is what she wanted even before she saw the menu and Eton Mess which had a twist to it as it was more tropical. Wine was very reasonably priced for anywhere going out these days and probably 2/3 of what you’d pay in a restaurant. First time there - definitely going again as there’s quite a bit on the menu to get through.

Farmhouse was everything I expected and everything everyone told me to expect. The food, the service was to die for & I’ll most definitely be making a return very soon. If you’re wondering if you should take that trip down to farmhouse, DO IT.

Drinks service was a little slow but didn’t stop us having a lovely evening. The food was tasty and portion sizes were good. The price for the lamb special for 2 was a tad high at £85.

A wonderful country find in a tiny village. The restaurant is definitely one to savour local farm to table, foraging and local game delicacies and each course was delicious. Staff are friendly, informative and welcoming and on a cold snowy night provided hot water bottles for each table to ensure we were sufficiently warm.

The highlight of the evening, however, was our post-dinner conversation with Chef Aktar Islam. It is rare to encounter a chef so committed to pushing boundaries while maintaining such a profound respect for the origins of his cuisine. Opheem is not just a restaurant; it is an experience—one that transcends dining and enters the realm of art. We left feeling not only satisfied but deeply inspired. This is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates extraordinary food and exceptional hospitality. We cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning to see what new creations await us.
