The White Oak Tavern is a family-owned business, operated by a brother & sister that are Ellicott City locals. The menu includes seasonal scratch made items, sustainable meats & produce from local farms and purveyors. The White Oak Burger is a community favorite and has been recognized as the best burger in Howard County for several years. The outdoor patio is dog friendly with a special dog menu. The bar has 42 rotating craft beers with a wide selection of styles with a free-to-join mug club. The food is VERY GOOD here! Ordered the chicken and waffles and my partner had the apple cinnamon French toast. Both dishes tasted soooo good! We also ordered the crab dip and that was very tasty. Definitely will return for brunch next time in the area.

The greeting, food and service were excellent. I had the lobster grilled cheese and fries. The server was kind enough to give me a taste of a wine to help me decide between two. The decor and architecture are warm and upscale feeling. The interior is gorgeous.

The plates never cease to amaze me. As many times as we’ve been there and tried different things we have not been disappointed. Lots of GF options and all 4 of us chose something different and we tasted everything. Fish of the day was steelhead trout. Cooked to perfection and very moist. Mushroom risotto and duck breast are also recommended. We had our always go to appetizers of octopus and fried calamari. Believe it or not we tried fried spam. We had it as kids growing up. Spam never tasted so good. Malia, our waitress, was unbelievably attentive, offering suggestions, and had unending patience. She was over the top. Can’t say enough about recommending this restaurant!!

Excellent service - Friendly and attentive staff. Delicious food. Not super crowded when we were there which is why I selected quiet, I have been there when live music was playing and it was too loud for me, but this trip was excellent.
