As an Italian immigrant, I am always looking for good, real Italian food, and most times I leave a restaurant disappointed. But not last night. My wife and I met two friends at Vinotta last night and as always I walked in a bit skeptical, but within minutes I felt differently. We were greeted by the most gracious hostess, our server came right away, told us the specials, pronounced all dishes properly and made some recommendations. The food was OUTSTANDING! The flavors were incredible. I had the “Calamari so good” which was indeed so good..my wife had the shrimp Portofino, which was delicious…our friends had the grilled octopus and they raved about it. We then had lobster ravioli and the Bucatini alla Romana.. Everything was delicious… As we walked out my wife said to me “You have to take me here again for a romantic dinner just the two of us “… Can’t wait to go back. Grazie Dante e Fausto! A nice place. Dress pretty much anyway you like, but more dressy is the norm. I booked a table for a first date kind of last minute. We were reserved at the bar. It worked out. The bartender seemed a little condescending, also got past that, as I with the most beautiful lady in the place. The food was good, bordering great. Although I felt the lobster ravioli was just a touch dry. Meatball app was fantastic, as is the grill toasted bread served with it. A really nice date, excellent food, no alchohol and under 100 bucks. Score!
