The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport. The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Our menus change on a regular basis and we also offer a small selection of seasonal specials on a daily basis. We welcome children over the age of 7. The meal was fantastic, I had hummus then rib eye steak and my wife had mackerel pate and a chicken burger. All of the food was served beautifully and tasted lovely. My only criticism was that it was so nice I ate it all and didn't have any room for the delicious desserts that were on offer! This was also served by a friendly lady who was the perfect waitress (ie checked on us regularly but not too much). I'm sorry but we didn't know her name. We're already planning our next visit.

Service from start to finish was wonderful, the ambience and overall atmosphere was lovely. The food was then outstanding too. perfect start to our honeymoon before jetting off!

Booked a table for dinner during our 1 night stay before our holiday. The restaurant was very quiet and we were seated straight away. We were offered drinks and tap water for the table. The menu was explained including items which were not available. We ordered and food arrived very quickly. It was very tasty and filling. The staff were very attentive and very friendly. I would (and will definitely) be staying and eating here again.
