Three brothers and a brother-in-law from El Salvador realized their long-held dream of opening a restaurant together in November of last year. Jaime Sorto, his brothers Hugo and Jose Bonilla, and his brother-in-law Jose Zelaya looked for a name that symbolizes their concept of two cultures coming together.They chose La Malinche, the name given to a historical figure who has been at the center of controversy for centuries. There is no lunch menu. It is brunch (breakfasty items you can elevate to lunch). Food d was taaty but menu small. Waitstaff do not check inon you soon enough (3rd time there, same experience: waitstaff are alao bartender ao they are mixing drinks while you wait for them to show up to aak for ketchup!) Good location, good food, will go again because it is convenient to UMD. Hope they retrain staff to visit table often.

We did have a reservation, but since we arrived before the lunch rush began, it would likely not have been a problem to get a table. And, though we asked to be seated somewhere quiet so that we could visit (3 of us), it was fairly quiet overall anyway. The place did get much busier while we were there, but not overwhelmingly noisy. The service was great, with each staff member very pleasant. Our meals were excellent. (I had the watermelon salad and was impressed that it was really a watermelon salad - not a bed of greens with a couple of bites of watermelon on it!)

Great local place. Friendly ,excellent service, very tasty food and a k Large varied menu. We enjoyed our lunch with our teenage grandkids. They raved about thd chai latte and desserts after polishing the main dishes!
