Opening their first location in the spring of 1984, Helen Babalos & Thomas Makris brought us Anatoli Souvlaki. They had a dream of combining the food of Greece with great service to add some Mediterranean style to the North Vancouver restaurant selection. They opened in the sleepy neighbourhood of lower Lonsdale and lived above the restaurant to ensure the quality and service. They were able to create a North Vancouver staple, a successful thriving restaurant based on faithful patrons and a reputation that has been passed through generations.In 2011, the family-run restaurant was taken over by their sons Alexi and Iani. This was my first time at The Lunch Lady. We made a reservation just over 2 weeks in advance and the only option on a Sunday evening was outdoor patio (so make sure to reserve well in advance for weekends!). The outdoor patio, they mention, is heated, and it truly was warm, covered and comfortable. We had the beef carpaccio which was good, garlic noodles, and this I would recommend, but my favorite dish was the steak luc lac (done medium rare with this burnt scallion butter that was divine). My friend had the beef noodle soup, and although the broth was great and the soup was a sizeable portion, you can get something similar in other Vietnamese restaurants. Finally, their customer service is fantastic. All in all, with the service, food and price, I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Its my second time at Torafuku. I came at 3:30 hoping to order the tasting menu again but it didn't start until 6. However I got to try their happy hour menu....You Will Not Be Disappointed. We ordered 4 items from the menu so we will try the rest next time. As always, great service, ambience and food!
