It all started in 1992, when Annette and Gerner Andresen opened the Lighthouse Café in Sausalito in its present form. The Andresens, both born in Denmark, had recently immigrated to the U.S., and along with them they brought the Scandinavian flair for simplicity, good quality and tasty food. The café has over the years become famous for its breakfast and lunch, with American classics like good old-fashioned burgers and a great selection of omelets, along with Scandinavian classics like Danish Meatballs or Norwegian Salmon. The worst parts were the best parts and the best parts haven’t caught up to language. At Spruce our tongues taste better than they can speak and are rollicked dumbfounded in joy. The endless train of kind folks that survey this wonderland never failed to show up in education as well as concern and empathy. All in all it was a respite that elevated the human condition with a masterful taste and beauty.

Love the friendly service and the food. We've ordered multiple dishes for brunch and dinner and the food was overall very tasty. Cocktails are good too!

Went to Wilder SF for Christmas dinner. My wife had the prime rib special and I had the pork chop dinner. Both were amazing. The pork chop had a wonderful sweet and salty flavor—no complaints on anything! We did the roast cauliflower for an app and they were super thoughtful of my allergies and skipped the flash fry since calamari goes in it (seafood allergy) and let us know it would take just a touch longer. Appreciated the safety and communication. We finished with affogato for dessert which is served in a waffle cone. A little twist on a classic. I wouldn’t normally like a waffle cone with it but it made it perfect to split with my spouse who really enjoys that part. Great place. Can’t wait to go back.
