The pub has recently been renovated, including comfortable bedrooms set in seven acres of countryside garden.We are fortunate to be surrounded by the picturesque Norfolk Broads, while Salhouse boasts numerous scenic walks for both guests and four-legged friends to enjoy.The neighbouring village of Wroxham provides plentiful amenities including a department store, local shops and cafes, and is popular with holidaymakers wishing to hire boats - we would all agree that one of the best ways to experience the Broads is on the water!Norfolk also boasts 90 miles of award-winning coastline, with lots of variety to explore. The Belgian Monk opened in December 2000. The main objective was to create something different yet to fit in with the way drinking and dining is changing. It has become a successful and established bar and restaurant, offering customers a choice of a regular selection of some 45 beers together with a selection of special beers. The menu is based on serving only the best products available freshly prepared daily, at realistic prices, in an informal relaxed "friends and family" atmosphere. It provides more than just the meal or drink but a whole Belgian experience. A nice experience for lunch, only thing that was a bit strange was they don’t seem to have the heating on . Seemed quite cold in there.

Our party enjoyed the Peter Pan afternoon tea. It was excellent!! One of the party is gluten and lactose intolerant and they were provided with a separate stand of food. Their items looked exactly like the other one. Service was efficient and the staff were extremely friendly. A beautiful setting.

The waiter was warm and welcoming and we were seated very quickly. The atmosphere was relaxed and decor pleasing. We were a party of 5 and most ordered the beef roast. I am gluten free and fortunately they had a GF option. It was the best roast dinner I have ever eaten out. The meat was perfect as were the vegetables and roast potatoes. The GF Yorkshire pudding was so tasty as was the gravy. No grease on my plate! There were empty plates all round. The puddings were delicious as well. All round a perfect afternoon with my husband ou daughter and grandchildren. Thank you.

A gorgeous meal served by friendly and efficient staff. We had no idea about this place in advance but very quickly our fears were allayed. We are looking forward to returning soon!
