Our bakery and cafe serves La Colombe Coffee alongside an array of pastries and sandwiches crafted by Chef Leigh Omilinksy.Dinner reservations are available Tuesday - Sunday; we are closed for dinner service on Mondays. Akahoshi Ramen is a humble ramen shop in the city of Chicago. Everything is made in the restaurant, including all soups, seasonings, toppings, and noodles. We are not an authentic ramen shop, though we value the history of ramen, and our ramen is influenced by its past and its future potential. The dish, popularized in Japan after World War 2, is symbolic of both struggle and perseverance. It is both a simple dish, and a fantastically complex one that we treat with reverence and respect. Roughly translating to “Red Star,” the name “Akahoshi” is a love letter to two cities; Sapporo, Hokkaido, where red stars adorn city monuments, and Chicago, Illinois, where the red star decorates the city flag. A truly lovely first experience at Thattu. Excellent food and cocktails, nice house wine, and comfortable atmosphere. Service was attentive but not overwhelming. Will definitely be back again.

Overall, great experience! Food was high QUALITY featuring a more high end euro palate. It’s a very nice ambiance, making you feel comfortable and welcomes an intimate setting. If you’re looking for a good dinner option or planning a date night you should consider. Friendly service and very patient. I will definitely be paying them another visit.

Absolutely Outstanding! We had the most incredible experience celebrating our anniversary here. Everything was perfect, and our server (I believe their name was Nick) went above and beyond with their helpfulness and expertise. The food was phenomenal (get the quail), and the overall atmosphere was flawless. My husband summed it up best: “My only critique is that I’m not still there eating the food.” Truly a 20/10 experience—we wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for making our special day unforgettable!
